Hedley House Hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, within an easy 8-minute walk of the centre of York.
Under the same family ownership since 1984, all rooms have recently been refurbished and most have large flat-screen TVs.
Hedley House was tastefully converted in 1984 from 2 Victorian town houses. It has its own private car park - important in York where parking is at a premium. There is a lounge bar for the exclusive use of guests, where home cooked evening meals and snacks are served.
In the summer there is a barbecue area and a 6 person outdoor aqua spa on a garden deck for your enjoyment. New conference facilities have been added and that can cater for up to 16 delegates.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Private parking is possible on site and costs GBP 3.00 per day.
Pets are not allowed.
Wireless internet is available in public areas and costs GBP 1.00 per hour.
A fixed amount of GBP 50 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.
All children are welcome. All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years are charged GBP 15.00 per stay for cots. All children from 2 to 8 years are charged GBP 15.00 per night and person for extra beds. All children from 9 to 16 years are charged GBP 25.00 per night and person when using existing bedding. Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 3. Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
Please note there is no charge for guests bringing their own babycots. Please specify at time of booking if this is applicable.
In 2005 we received a Silver Award from the English Tourist Board and continue to maintain all the standards required. Most rooms now have new wide flat screen televisions. Rooms do vary in size due to the nature of the building.
Double or twin rooms are used for single occupancy. Room may be on 3rd floor.
By car: From the South: From the a1 take the a64, then the a1237 to York North. Finally take the a19 towards the city centre. Drive through Clifton: at the traffic lights you see Clifton Green on your right-hand side - continue until you go underneath a concrete footbridge. Bootham Terrace is the second turning on the right-hand side. Do not park down the side of the hotel, but come into reception and we will direct you to the car park. From the North: From the A1 take the A59, A1237 to York North, then the A19 to the city centre. From here follow the above directions. From Hull: From the A1079 take the A64, A1237 to York North, then the A19 to the city centre. From here follow above directions. BY TRAIN: Walking from the station (Approximately 10 minutes): Turn left out of the station and walk to the crossroads. Turn left down Leeman Road. Just before the big bridge over the road, there is an alley on your right-hand side next to a small kiosk. Follow this to the river. Go over the bridge and turn left as soon as you can. Walk along the large car park to the end. Turn left under the archway, then right up the slope. This is now Bootham Terrace. We are at number 3. There is a taxi rank outside the station - the fare to Hedley House is approximately 3.50 GBP. Good luck. See you soon!
